MARKET NEWSNEW OR NEARLY NEW ITEMS!
Below is a recap of recently uploaded new items ready for scrumptious seasonal eating, just for you and your family! You may want to recheck listings on Monday mornings to add to your order – some farmers project what will be ripening for the week for all of their markets on Sunday evenings! (Which explains why there are more items listed on Mondays when I close the market than Thursdays when I open it, lol!)

POUND CAKE IS HERE!
The pound cakes are online!
I think most of you have tried the to-die-for pound cakes we’ve occasionally had as an add-on at market. Now they are available to order! FarmHouse Pound Cakes, Grower: DaweWood Farm. Because Ellen has so many varieties available, here’s how to order:

1). Place the order like you would any other product, either regular pound cake (under Baked Goods, then “Sweets” OR Baked Goods, then “Gluten-Free”.

2). When you check out, there is a space for comments under products you order where you can leave a grower/producer a message.

3). Let Ellen know which flavor you would like, which she lists in the description.

Easy-Peasy – Scrumptious Pound Cakes every week. Sounds kind of dangerous to me, lol!

SUNDAY’S FEATURE: Will be Garlic. Most of our veggie vendors have it listed, including garlic braids by Sylvan Falls Mill, and a special by Bo & Lisa’s Lil Patch. I will have the best recipe ever for roasted garlic and focus on the garlic selections available this week. Stay tuned!

Now, onto the New or Nearly New listing highlights:

Lettuce – Concept, Grower: Leah Lake Farm - Exceptionally sweet, thick, juicy leaves for baby lettuce or full size-heads.Concept exhibits the characteristics of both romaine and summer crisp lettuce.

Lettuce – Tropicana, Grower: Leah Lake Farm – Tropicana is a classic green leaf lettuce. Soft frills around the edge are offset by a juicy center rib, making these leaves perfect for layering on a sandwich or as the base in a coarse-cut salad. Citrus, cranberry, and walnut are great flavor pairings for this lettuce.

Potatoes – Red Pontiac, Grower: Leah Lake Farm - From the heart of the garden, Red Pontiac is one of the finest quality red-skinned potatoes. The appealing, oval, white-fleshed tubers have smooth, thick, deep red skins and shallow eyes. With exquisite creamy texture they are unmatched baked or boiled.

Potatoes – Yukon Gold, Grower: Leah Lake Farm – Yukon Gold is so richly flavored that your guests will ask if you already added the butter! This superb baking variety sets an early harvest of large, scrumptious spuds you will find irresistible in soups and side dishes as well as straight from the oven! Yukon Gold is the most popular yellow-skinned variety for baking.

Please contact grow@ranchoalegrefarm.com for questions pertaining to Market or Raw Milk. It is very difficult to return phone calls. Remember to interact with us on Facebook and follow us on Meetup to get notification on all our wonderful events and news. If you are interested in Goat’s Milk and can pick up any day but Tuesday, contact Nik The Goat Guy at 404-542-0981. Goats have to be milked every day and a week-end pick-up would be lovely. For right now, we generally have some goat’s milk available during market hours, whether you have placed a market order or not. Please call Nik first to verify. Please contact him first though, we can’t accommodate walk-ins due to hosting private events almost every week-end!
